LOGIN & SIGNUP EXPERIENCE
Along with working on the first time user experience for the RAZER Themes app, I was also given the opportunity to work on a new sign up and login experience for the app. Though there was already an existing mobile kit for login and sign up, our company stakeholders wanted to see explorations into a new login/sign up design experience since the current experience was pretty limited. For the new design, I wanted to extend sign up to include account set up at the time of account creation. The motivation behind this was to cater to the user and make our Themes content more personalized for that user.
INITIAL STAGES: ANALYZING THE CURRENT UI
Unlike designing the FTUE for Themes, working on login & sign up began with looking at what we already had in the Themes app in terms of current login and sign up experience design. I looked at the current design, grabbed screenshots, and did quick call outs. In this exercise, I highlighted problems I saw.
I mapped out the current flow of the login/signup UI to do a deeper dive on ways to improve it. These improvements were drafted on a new flow and shown to stakeholders for approval.
I followed Android Material Design guidelines for the new login and sign up experience. I had several goals in mind for the new design: I wanted to keep it clean (think minimal) and modern, with edge (think RAZER). Below, you will see some of the very first of my wireframes thrown together in a day.
FINAL LOGIN DESIGN
As mentioned before, I used Android Material Design as guidelines for my design and I must say, I couldn't be happier as it aligned with the RAZER brand. Below is the final design for the login screens. Sign up screens were shown earlier above.
