RAZER THEMES:

FIRST TIME USER EXPERIENCE

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Pushing forward the Razer Phone as the first mobile gaming phone, the Themes app had been neglected and had not seen an UI update for 2 years. I was able to get the OK to work on revising the UI and explore what we could do to enhance the user's experience of Themestore. Working on the first time user experience (FTUE) was one of the top priorities since our current app did not have this as a part of its flow at the time.

IDEATION & WIREFRAMING

Initial stages began with looking at existing first time user experiences (FTUE/FTUX) in similar applications before sketching out different ideas on pen and paper. After showing these sketches to the rest of the design team, we settled on two designs for me to create medium fidelity wireframes for in the end.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I'm very happy with the end results and final deliverable of the first ever FTUE for the Themes app. I'm so very grateful to have worked so closely alongside a wonderful PM who helped me align designing for Themes app with our business goals. With this part of the UX completed, our primary goal is for it to drive and improve user engagement with our app. The hand off to engineering was also smooth as the outcome for development was clearly defined in the product requirements, along with delivering a process flow and animated prototype.
